Set up Nourish Scanner
Uses Apple's built-in barcode scanner — perfect accuracy, free forever.
1
Open the Shortcuts app → tap + (top right)
2
Tap Add Action → in the search bar type Scan → tap "Scan QR/Barcode"
3
You'll see a blue action that says "Scan QR/Barcode". Below it tap the search bar again and search URL → tap "URL" (not Open URLs)
4
In the URL action's text field, paste this URL exactly — tap the box below to copy it first:
https://YOUR-APP.pages.dev/pages/scan.html?barcode=
tap to copy
5
After pasting, place your cursor right at the end of the URL (after the
barcode= part). Then tap the blue variable button that appears in the keyboard row above the keyboard — it looks like a small square with lines. Select "Scan QR/Barcode" from the list.
6
Now search for Open URLs and add it as the next action. It should automatically use the URL you just built.
7
Tap the shortcut name at the very top (it may say "New Shortcut") → rename it to exactly: Nourish Scanner
8
Tap Done to save
✓ Test it: tap "Run" on the shortcut — it should open your camera. Scan something and it should return to Nourish with the result.
Can't find the variable button? An alternative: after the URL action, search for and add a "Text" action, type your URL there, then use "Open URLs" and set it to use that Text variable.
